My Wheat . . .

(There was a huge fire to the west of us yesterday.  The smoke made the sky the most beautiful and ominous sight I've seen in awhile.)

"Discovering this idyllic place, we find ourselves filled with a yearning to linger here, where time stands still and beauty overwhelms."

I don't know who wrote that, but my soul affirms it.  Have you ever found a place like that?  Overwhelmed by beauty.  Ah, such an awesome feeling.  One of my favorite idyllic places is the wheat field across the road from my house.  Isn't there something about a wheat field that brightens and soothes the soul?  I often think to myself, God, thank you for this little wheat field.  I love when the wheat looks like water, rolling in waves, smooth as the sea.  It has the same calming effect as water.  Peace.  I need that feeling.  Boy, do I need that feeling.  Life is so crazy sometimes.  So, I look to my wheat and the wheat says, "Sit down, relax, grab a book, enjoy, breathe, ahhh . . . ."  Oh, and a little piece of chocolate wouldn't hurt.

(It was 9:30pm-ish.  I was off to Wal-mart, which I was dreading.  However, I pulled out of my driveway to THIS.  I had to stop the car and grab my camera.  So glad I did.)
