10 down, infinity to go...
Thursday, April 22nd, was our 10th anniversary! Although we ooze (ha) love for eachother, I'm surprised we remembered this year (it's been a crazy few weeks). I'm even more surprised that Ben remembered BEFORE I had the chance to remind him a few days prior to the day.
We've come a long way. Or, maybe I should say that I'VE come a long way. Ben has always seemed to have it together...still the same constant, faithful sort of fellow. Me however, I feel like I've "better-ed" over the years, in large part because of Ben's selfless nature, and therefore, tremendous example. He'd say I was kissing his bu**, but it's the truth.
All I was expecting this year was a night at the Olive Garden and a great movie. Surprise, surprise...and I'm not surprised very often...Ben surprised me. After dinner he took me to a hotel with themed rooms. We stayed in the Hawaii room (if we're honest, it was a little funny...I had a hard time thinking about all that's gone on in the Hawaii room prior to our visit...some hotels give me the heebee-jeebees after a 20/20 special I saw once). I thought his earlier gift of cute, white flip flops was interesting until we got to our room, then it all made sense. My sweet man had really stepped up this year. Not only did he surprise me with the room, an overnight bag, my favorite goodies, but he rented a movie I'd been dying to see...and it was a VERY selfless selection on his part. The Young Victoria, starring Emily Blunt (LOVED IT, by the way). Needless to say, we had a wonderfully romantic time...
As one friend put it: "Ten down, infinity to go...." She's right. I can't wait to see what the next ten bring.
