Mother's Day 2011.

I love a celebration!

And celebrating womanhood/motherhood this weekend was a pleasure.  I thought much about the women in my life who have helped shape me in so many positive and powerful ways.  I count my blessings that I was born a woman in this age.  This time in history.  We are so lucky.  The sky is our limit.  And we can do so much good in the world if we embrace what it is to be a woman, to nurture, to build, to teach, to love.  I wouldn't want to be the alternative (but I sure love loving one)!

Sunday morning was delightful.  Ben stunningly played the role of conceirge.  I ate breakfast like a queen, surrounded by my little princes and princess, cards and fortune-tellers abounding.  However, my royal bunch lasted only so long before their tummies got the better of them.  They soon ran off for their own crepes.

While I finished my breakfast, silently and alone, I had one hand on my belly.  For the first time this pregnancy, I felt the baby kick from the outside.  I thought how precious it was, my little mother's day gift from this baby inside of me.  I treasured the moment, just for me.  It wasn't until that evening that I was still enough to feel it again, only this time Ben felt it too.  We were so happy and shared a smile of wonder in the miracle of it all.
