La Weekend.

(Not a word.  It was a moment of weakness.)

Our weekend got a little stirred-up from the usual.

Friday, the kids had a sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's.  Yee-haw.  Can I say that again?  YEE-HAW!  This doesn't happen every day so we were totally excited to go on a date and not have to pay a babysitter!  We've had gift cerificates sitting in our cupboard for months to a restaurant and a movie.

We had a wonderful time.  The food was scrumptious, so scrumptious in fact, that I made myself sick.  Do you ever eat too much at a nice restaurant because who knows when you'll make it back again?  Life gets so busy and oftentimes we'd rather eat pizza and watch a movie at home.  However, it's so nice to eat something you didn't have to make yourself.  It's especially nice to just sit there and talk and people watch and laugh, not having to rush because the kids are antsy.

We saw The Adjustment Bureau, with Matt Damon and Emily Blunt (whom I've LOVED since Dan in Real Life).  I liked it . . . well, I liked Matt Damon and Emily Blunt.  The last really great movie we saw was Inception, and honestly, Adjustment Bureau wasn't quite as captivating.  Don't get me wrong, I bet if I hadn't seen Inception before I saw this movie I would've been singing it's praises.  It WAS good.  Really good.  Maybe the "bad guys" weren't bad enough, or something?  Who knows.  Timing is everything.

We had a blast together, besides my tummy-ache, and the kids had a blast at G & G's.  A win-win situation.

Saturday, my mom and I went to a Home and Family Conference at the university in town.  I'll save that for tommorow, but know this: I am inspired, motivated, humbled, and full of strivings to apply what I learned there to my life.

If only the World could attend a home and family conference.  Keeping a family strong and together doesn't just happen.  It's hard work.  Maybe I'm a little extreme, but I think it's families that keep this world from going off the deep end.  They're like glue holding the good things in place.

we JUST say Inception this weekend...free trial of Netflix. It was deep, but I liked it.
Sounds like a fun weekend!
