All on a winter's day...

Like most of you, I'm ready for winter's end.  Unfortunately, in my part of the world spring is still MONTHS away.  Days are hard when I can't see the sun.  However, there is one time of day that is most appealing to my wintery-self: early in the morning, when the sun is just beginning to rise.  The sky is the most beautiful, wispy pink, and there's still a blanket of fog hugging the ground.  I love it.  I've had several of those perfect winter mornings and I never tire of them.  It's so peaceful.  The calm before the storm, right?  Then it's non-stop until the kiddos are in bed.

I was lying in bed thinking about how much I love the summer, and came up with this little ditty, dedicated to all of you:

If you're ready for the summer, clap your hands.  clap, clap.
If you're ready for the summer, clap your hands.  clap, clap.
If you're ready for the summer, 'cause this winter is a bummer,
If you're ready for the summer, clap your hands.  clap, clap.

I'm sorry, as much as I would like some warm weather, my hands won't be "clapping" because I am not prepared for it yet. Plus if summer came you wouldn't have a breathtaking picture like this one! AMAZING!

PS Your previous post inspired me (some may call it 'crave') to eat tator tots!

Clap clap! That is such a beautiful picture.

One of my favorite things in the winter, when at Ricks, was walking across from the Taylor building. On the rare ocassion that it was blue skies you could see forever across the land and it made me appreciate the beauties of the earth, depsite my frozen toes :o) Memories..

How come I can never come up with "ditty's" when I can't sleep?

Lanette, I use Blurb.com. You can choose which posts you want to include (I do them as a yearly book) and then it "slurps" your blog - pictures and text. It's free software and you can make all the choices you want for your book - soft cover, hard cover with dust jacket, or image wrap. It'll ask you if you want them to autopopulate(?) (put the blog together for you) or if you want to organize each page. I chose to do each page separately. It'll take some time, but then it's exactly how you want it! To have a finished blog book is one of the main reasons I blog. Hello. Instant family journal! YAY! Let me know if you have any more questions. I tried uploading my finished product to blurb yesterday, but I guess my wireless kept messing up...so guess what Ryan is going to be doing today :) I've started my second book (2008) but won't publish it until I see the first. Just to make sure I'm doing what I think I'm doing. :)

Have fun! Good luck!
