Marilou, Mother, Friend...

1 o'clock this morning, my dear, dear friend, Marilou, had her babies, twins, little Logan and Brooklyn. I went to see her at the hospital. Seeing those little babies and watching Marilou as she touched them and talked to them and loved them was special...and I was so lucky to see it. There's a tender little window of time, so close after the birth of a child that's unearthly; I guess you could say it's a sacred time. There's a lot of quiet moments when the world outside doesn't matter at all, everything that really matters is so clear. You're given a gift. A sweet, innocent little body for you to love and love and love. I've realized that those times were when I felt so close to the spirit, so humbled, so full of love, so much gratitiude...so much gratitude.

I'm so excited for Marilou...what a journey (can you imagine your family jumping from 3 to 5 overnight?)! She is an amazing woman. She is strong, and stubborn, and kind, and faithful. She is full of wisdom (she's younger than me) and self-discipline. She is so aware of the "needful" things. She is committed to truth and has the integrity to speak up if she needs to. She struggles, but is full of hope. She gives and gives. She loves the Lord, first and foremost. I want to be like her. I love her.

What a beautiful tribute to Marilou. She's another woman, like you whom I adore and admire. She too, has blessed my life in a myriad of ways.

I love that time when you feel close to the spirit. It makes me want to give birth again. But not any time soon!!
