You could even give your kids less than previous years. They're still so young they don't understand monetary value. The $5 toy may be their favorite.

I got a kick out of your post. I bought my girls little red sweaters at Macys (on a really good sale) for their photos. I talked myself into returning them, so we didn't use them for photos. Then, my girls begged me to give them the sweaters for Christmas. They really were an okay deal- $40 sweaters at 40% off plus I had a 20% off coupon to combine. They were $14.60 each. I'm still feeling guilty. At least the biggest one will be worn by all 3 girls.Kerrihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06984609759747161696noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-383019550983077404.post-73322818339687597362009-11-19T12:08:53.682-07:002009-11-19T12:08:53.682-07:00I would keep it and feel okay about it. No doubt ...I would keep it and feel okay about it. No doubt about it...you could call it you last big spluge coat. You'd get plenty of use out of it and it won't go out of style...see, plenty of reasons to justify it :-)Sandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17515415651577903072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-383019550983077404.post-83226137995766713702009-11-19T12:07:13.811-07:002009-11-19T12:07:13.811-07:00Just feel guilty and keep the coat. A great line from the talk says: "When faced with the choice to buy, consume, or engage in worldly things and activities, we all need to learn to say to one another, 'We can’t afford it, even though we want it!' or 'We can afford it, but we don’t need it—and we really don’t even want it!'"
My advice: read the talk. If you feel your purchase is just, then move on without guilt.
Sorry for the long post. I know EXACTLY how you feel!Poulsen Familyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06272121969567873445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-383019550983077404.post-39765754238421981262009-11-19T10:49:05.225-07:002009-11-19T10:49:05.225-07:00I love your postings! BUT then again you knew...I would say KEEP THE COAT! BUT then again you knew I would. Things that scream your name are worth it. Even in the months to come. AND if we are honest you would probably spend the same amount on a total outfit that didn't scream to you and you wouldn't wear it as much as you are going to wear a coat that speaks to you. of course hypothetically speaking....Brittneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17268516699186289416noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-383019550983077404.post-49894702633164976932009-11-18T23:19:13.847-07:002009-11-18T23:19:13.847-07:00because you knew that Macy's "sales"...because you knew that Macy's "sales" aren't quite "sale-y" enough on a normal day in the life of Lanette?

LOL!! I hear ya sister.

oh dear. that's a toughy. well, hypothetically...I would imagine how I would feel about the coat in the next 3monhts, year, and then 3 years. happy? guilty? SO GLAD I had actually taken advantage of that opportunity? Or so horrible that I hadn't been as prudent as I should with our money...hmm. I'm so conflicted. Part of me is yelling to you ("KEEP THE COAT LANETTE, KEEEEEP THE COOOOAT!") but if it were me...honestly...I'd probably take it back. :( BOOHOO.

Don't be me.katieohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08339475353059389950noreply@blogger.com
